Please join Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi for two parades during Memorial Day weekend!!

May 19, 2017

On Saturday, May 27 Raja will be marching in the Rolling Meadows Memorial Day parade with the Greater Palatine Area Democrats.

On Monday, May 29 Raja will be marching in the Itasca Memorial Day parade with the Addison Township Democratic Organization and the Bloomingdale Township Democrats.

Please email me at mark@rajaforcongress.com to let me know if you can join Raja and these great Democratic organizations to start the summer parade season.

Marching shows our fellow Chicago suburban neighbors we are fired up and ready to keep fighting hard for working families across this country.

Here are the details on each of the parades:

Rolling Meadows on Saturday, May 27

Where: Park in the Jewel grocery store lot at the northwest corner of Kirchhoff and Meadow. We will assemble near the fire station at the southwest corner of this intersection between 10:30 AM and 11 AM.

When: Meet us no later than 10:45 AM on Saturday, May 27 at the Jewel grocery store lot at the northwest corner of Kirchoff and Meadow.

What to bring: We will give out Raja T-Shirts at the event, and we recommend wearing white and blue in case we run out of t-shirts. We’ll have water, candy and some spare sunblock.

Itasca on Monday, May 29

Where: We will be entry #9 (Addison and Bloomingdale Township Democrats) for the parade route. Step-off location will be at Bryn Mawr and Catalpa.

When: Please meet at entry #9 at 8:45 AM. The parade steps off at 9:30 AM.

What to bring: We will give out Raja T-Shirts at the event, and we recommend wearing white and blue in case we run out of t-shirts. We’ll have water, candy and some spare sunblock.

Hope to see you Memorial Day weekend!

While you’re here, I would like to get photos of everyone for our website. This will help the people in our precincts know who we are. Please make every effort to stop by. Mark your calendars and we look forward to seeing you there. We usually have local elected officials here as well, and it can be your chance to talk to them directly and get to know them. Increased Enforcement and Community-based Solutions

President Trump made immigration a central feature of his campaign and has taken swift action uprooting families and leaving many living with fear and uncertainty about their futures.

What are the myths and realities about illegal immigration? What are its causes? What is it like to be an undocumented person living in the US? What new policies are in effect? Who is being affected? How do immigrants affect the American workforce? What can native born people do to help protect our neighbors in these uncertain times?

Join Northern Illinois Jobs With Justice for analysis and discussion about many facets of immigration in the Trump era. We will be hosting a panel including Shirley Sadjadi, Immigration attorney, Tim Bell of the Chicago Workers Collaborative, Ada Fuentes-Zullo of Jobs with Justice, and front line community activists from Immigrant Solidarity DuPage.
