First Annual Sanders Supper Sep 8th at Pal Joey’s

August 22, 2018

Sanders Supper Progressives of Kane County

Come celebrate Bernie’s Birthday with Progressives of Kane County. This will be our first ever fundraiser for the Progressives of Kane County! This will be a chance for those of us who have been fighting for the progressive cause to dine and enjoy time with our progressive brothers and sisters. We have fought hard for the cause, now it’s time to enjoy ourselves before we have to rejoin the fight. You will have a chance to win some cash as we will be having a 50/50 raffle.

The event will be held at Pal Joey’s 2030 Main St, Batavia at 5pm-8pm on September 8th.

August Guest Speaker Jim May

August 14, 2018

About Jim May Storyteller

The Guest Speaker at our August 21, 2018 meeting will be author and storyteller, Jim May.

Jim was born in Spring Grove, Illinois where his ancestors first settled in the 1840’s. Raised in this small German-Catholic farming community, his stories resonate with the rural voices of the Illinois prairie. His relatives spent time “visiting” and telling stories as an integral part of daily life–a means of weaving the social fabric of the community.

As an Emmy award-winning storyteller and author, Jim seeks to reestablish live storytelling as an art form, ideal not only for entertainment and education, but also for the grounding and healing that is needed in complex, modern times.

You can learn more about Jim at jimmaystoryteller.com.
